Surface Preparation

  • Care must be taken to ensure that the surface has cured and is sound. The surface must be freed from residues that would prevent adhesion (oil, dirt, detergent, soap, etc.). If necessary, the surface should be smoothed with modew Repair Mortars, and cracks must be repaired.

Application

  • Wallbond 5001 Exposed Concrete Primer is applied with a brush or roller after adding 25% water into a plastic bucket and mixing thoroughly. It is recommended that the mixing be performed with a mixer having a low speed of less than 500 revolutions/minute. The drying time is 45-60 minutes. Application should not be made over it before it dries. The temperature of the surface to be applied should be a minimum of 5°C – 30°C, and the surface should not receive rain. After the applied Wallbond 5001 Exposed Concrete Primer dries, plaster application should be proceeded to at least 24 hours later. Hands and application tools should be washed with plenty of water after application. For information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet. The specified consumption amount is for general information purposes. It may vary depending on application conditions and surface properties.

  • It is an acrylic dispersion polymer-based plaster primer for plaster and render underlay exposed concrete surfaces, horizontal and overhead applications.

Advantages

  • It is easy to apply.

  • It increases the adhesion of cement-based and especially gypsum-based plasters to exposed concrete.

  • It prevents rapid water loss of cement-based and especially gypsum-based plasters.

  • It increases the working time and workability of cement-based and especially gypsum-based plasters.

  • It does not contain solvent.

Areas of Use

  • Indoors and outdoors.

  • On horizontal and vertical surfaces.

  • On ceilings.

  • It is used as a primer to increase the adhesion strength in the application of gypsum-, lime-, and cement-based plasters over exposed concrete surfaces.
