Surface Preparation
-
The surface must be dry, clean, sound, and free from dust; oil, dirt, or anti-adhesive materials must be removed from the surface, and substances like mortar and cement residues must be scraped off.
-
Dusty surfaces on the back of the ceramic must be cleaned by moistening.
-
Surface defects with a depth greater than $1\text{ cm}$ must be repaired with PROEDİT 5045 6 – 8 hours before applying the adhesive.
-
On gross concrete surfaces, before proceeding with the application, the surface must be primed in a single layer with WALLBOND 5001 gross concrete primer to increase bonding strength and left to dry for a minimum of 3 hours.
-
In wet area applications, it should be primed with the recommended primer before ceramic laying, and minimum C2 class adhesives should be preferred on these surfaces.
Application
-
The usability period of the prepared mortar (pot life) is a maximum of 3 hours, working time is maximum 30 minutes, and adjustability time is 15 minutes.
-
Joint application requires 24 hours, and opening the floor to traffic takes 24 – 48 hours.
-
These values are obtained as a result of experiments conducted under laboratory conditions at $23 \pm 2^{\circ}\text{C}$ and $\%50 \pm 5$ relative humidity, and may vary depending on surface and ambient conditions.
