Proizolastik 5006 Surface Preparation and Application Guide

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure that the cement-based surfaces of structures in contact with water are sound, dry, load-bearing, dust-free, clean, and level.

  • Thoroughly clean the surface of any oil, grease, rust, and paraffin residues that could weaken adhesion, and ensure there are no loose particles.

  • Remove iron and wooden wedges from the surface, fill any active water leaks and resulting cavities with Tıkaç Harcı or PROEDİT 5045 Repair Mortar, and create a chamfer with a radius of at least $4\text{ cm}$ on corners and edges.

  • Wet the application surface thoroughly and wait until it reaches a saturated surface-dry (wet/dry) state.

  • If the coating material loses its water immediately and takes on a matte appearance during application, it indicates that the surface is insufficiently wetted or drying too quickly.

  • In hot weather or windy conditions, water up to %70 of component B can be added into the mixed material exclusively for the first coat.

Application

  • Apply the mixture in two or three coats using a Thoro brush, ensuring the brush direction in each coat is perpendicular to the previous one.

  • Note that the waiting time between coats varies depending on ambient conditions.

  • When reinforcing with a waterproofing mesh, apply the first coat with a Thoro brush, lay the mesh after it dries, and then apply the second and third coats over it.

  • It is a positive and negative water pressure resistant, UV super-resistant fully flexible waterproofing and concrete protection mortar.

Advantageous Features

  • It is elastic, does not shrink, does not crack, and is UV resistant.

  • It provides safe applications in the waterproofing of terrace roofs that will not be coated over under light traffic.

  • It is easily applied on horizontal and vertical surfaces with a brush, roller, trowel, or spray machine.

  • It provides seamless and jointless waterproofing.

  • It provides high-performance water impermeability.

  • It is water vapor permeable, allowing the concrete to breathe.

  • It is non-toxic and ideal for drinking water tanks.

  • Thanks to its flexibility and high adhesion property, it creates an excellent insulation layer under ceramic and screed.

  • It protects concrete surfaces from carbonation and chloride.

Areas of Use

  • Used in indoor and outdoor spaces, in vertical and horizontal applications.

  • Used on terraces (provided that the surface is protected in gray color applications).

  • White color must be used in places open to UV.

  • Used in soft water (between pH 3 and pH 7) storage pools used in the textile industry.

  • Used in water tanks and Olympic swimming pools.

  • Used in elevator pits.

  • Used in wet areas such as toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, and balconies.

  • Used in areas sensitive to movement, vibration, and slight settlements as part of a foundation waterproofing system.

  • Used in protecting concrete from water, carbonation, and de-icing salts.

  • Used in facilities such as thermal springs and Turkish baths.
